The Clean BC Better Homes Rebate is available to all homeowners who make eligible upgrades to their heating systems by installing qualifying systems with registered contractors, such as Redblue.

Alternatively, BC is offering the Clean BC Better Homes Income Qualified Program (IQP) which is specifically targeted towards households with low to moderate incomes. Homeowners can qualify for up to $9,500 in funding through the IQP which is paid directly to your contractor on your behalf, reducing your overall upfront and total costs to your contractor.

Lastly, if you’re looking for financing your entire project, there is an option through Clean BC Better Homes Low Interest Financing for up to $40,000 paid directly to you. This program is specifically designed for homeowners switching from fossil fuels to heat pump systems.

*It’s important to note that homeowners are not eligible to receive combinations of the Clean BC Better Homes IQP funding, the Clean BC Better Homes Rebate, or the Clean BC Better Homes Low Interest Financing at the same time; however, you may still be eligible for additional funding through the federal Canada Greener Homes rebate programs.

RedBlue is committed to helping homeowners navigate the application process for all types of rebates. As a registered contractor, we ensure that homeowners get the most out of the provincial Clean BC Better Homes programs for their energy-efficient upgrades. Our staff are kept up to date on the current rebate programs and requirements and can help direct you to the right place to answer all your questions.

All customers are strongly encouraged to visit the links provided below to learn more about the eligibility requirements, application process and more FAQ directly from the rebate provider, as preregistration is required in some circumstances:

  1. Clean BC Better Homes & Home Renovation Program
  2. Clean BC Income Qualified Program (IQP)
  3. Clean BC Better Homes Low Interest Financing
This is an interest free financing option for eligible homeowners of up to $40k
Repayment term is 10 years at 0% interest.
This loan requires you to be eligible and to also be applying for the Canada Greener Homes Grant (which requires the pre and post energy audit)
It can only be used on your primary residence (rental properties are not eligible).
You must have good credit history and not be under a consumer proposal, an orderly payment of debt program, a bankruptcy or equivalent insolvency proceeding.
Once approved, up to 15% of the loan can be delivered up front if a deposit is required from your contractor(s).
More information regarding the requirements and eligibility criteria can be found here:
  1. Canada Greener Homes Loan
The Federal Government provides a grant for heating upgrades with a maximum amount of $5000. Furthermore, you can receive a reimbursement of up to $600 for mandatory pre and post energy audit costs.
It’s important to note that this grant requires that both pre and post audits are completed; pre-install occurs prior to the heat pump installation, while post-install is done after the installation but before submitting your application.
It’s highly recommended that homeowners check the program eligibility online prior to booking an energy advisor to ensure all basic requirements are met. Additionally, this grant is eligible for combination with the provincial Clean BC rebate, which can offer up to $6K, resulting in a maximum rebate of $11K.
Once the installation is finished, and all invoices, including those from the contractor and energy advisor are paid in full, homeowners will receive the rebate payment after submitting the required documentation via the Greener Homes Initiative website.
  1. Canada Greener Homes Grant

They came, they saw, and they conquered, then left. All in a day leaving me with a brand new heating system. I explained to the amazing work crew of my concern about having pipes and wires running through my finished basement into the crawl space where my old gas furnace was located and where the new heat exchanger would replace it. Did the crew listen? Did they ever, no pipes or wires to be seen until you get to the crawl space. A beautiful job very very well done and super clean. If one has a little anxiety about getting a heating contractor then call Red/Blue and you will have ease of mind.

RedBlue provided excellent service right from the first phone call, through the site visit, quote, installation and invoicing. A stellar performance! Suffice to say, I've never had a smoother job by a contractor. (I can say this with some authority, as I designed and acted as builder/contractor for my own house.) We not only picked the best value, it seems we got the best people for the job! Thanks to everyone at RedBlue!Barry

The short version:RedBlue is incredible and went above and beyond — especially Brianne and Saxon! The long version:Our heat pump/furnace/cold air was not working as it should. We reached out to another company, and while waiting to hear back, the furnace started leaking a significant amount. We phoned the first company back and they were unable to offer a time earlier than after the weekend. (Not faulting them for this).Of course the weather had really picked up in heat, we have all upstairs living (and heat rises) with big windows, and two children (one of which is a 8 mth old baby, so keeping them comfortable is paramount). On a whim we decided to try RedBlue as we had heard great things about them. They were able to get us in the next day.During that time, it started leaking more and worried, I posted publicly on Facebook asking if it would be safe to run it overnight (as of course, the weather was spicy!)Brianne saw my post and let me chat with her, giving me the number of their on-call staff, Kurtis, to help me decide what to do while we waited. Kurtis did let me know that while it wouldn’t hurt the unit itself, there were other risk factors (such as water damage to the walls) and we decided not to run it.Brianne let me know that Saxon would have us fixed the next day, and while he was scheduled for later in the afternoon, she’d get him out to us as soon as he was able. The next day, Saxon was able to arrive early and fixed the problem. He walked us through what he did afterwards, and then answered our questions to ensure we felt comfortable with the unit moving forward, and how best to use it. It was extremely helpful and valuable information.Brianne reached out later to check in that everything went well and we were happy. There may have been a typo in the invoice as we didn’t receive it, but Brianne let me know not to worry and she will follow up with me on Monday.I am thoroughly impressed with RedBlue through every step of the process! I will absolutely be recommending them to everyone else in the future, as well as using them for any maintenance and/or repairs ourselves.Thank you again!! ☺️

Amazing service. First off Brianne in dispatch was super responsive and she was able to get me a technician on very short notice. Bryan was the tech who came by, he identified the issue within 5 minutes (an issue that the last company I used for HVAC never identified even though the issue reoccurred over 2 years!) Super professional company and reasonably priced too. Highly recommend!

After experiencing 8 months with the Heat Pumps and analyzing our gas and electric consumption I have determined that heating with the Heat Pumps is less expensive than heating with Natural Gas.I will add our costs for both Hydro and Natural Gas at the end of this review.Reflecting on our Heat Pump installation 8 months ago by RedBlue Heating and A/C we are very happy with the result.With regard to the installation process last Summer. It was trouble free.Our salesman from Red/Blue was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and informative. His communication skills were excellent. He guided us through the purchase process with great patience and attention to detail. He designed a system with 2 smaller heat pumps which will be more energy efficient and quieter than one large heat pump.The five installers were polite, most pleasant, helpful and did excellent work. They did an amazing job in carrying out the installation process quickly and efficiently. I was extremely impressed with their precision, dexterity and attention to detail.The installers were extremely careful and a vacuum was used regularly during the installation.I have no hesitation in highly recommending RedBlue Heating and A/C to carry out Heat Pump installation work.Their quotes are extremely competitive.This is the first time that we have done business with this company. I have no relationship with them and I am not receiving compensation for this recommendation.Note that we now have our heat set at 23*C whereas prior to the heat pump installation it was set at 21*C as we did not want overload our 29 year old natural gas furnace.HydroFeb - Apr 23, 2019 - 750 kWh - $88Apr - Jun 20, 2019 - 496 kWh - $63Jun - Aug 21, 2019 - 583 kWh - $72Aug - Oct 22, 2019 - 675 kWh - $81Oct - Dec 19, 2019 - 672 kWh - $85Dec - Feb 20, 2020 - 974 kWh -$107Feb - Apr 21, 2020 - 821 kWh - $95Apr - Jun 20, 2020 - 670 kWh - $79Jun - Aug 21, 2020 - 661 kWh - $79Aug - Oct 22, 2020 - 700 kWh - $82Oct - Dec 22, 2020 - 878 kWh - $99Dec - Feb 19, 2021 - 1,033 kWh - $113Feb - Apr 21, 2021 - 895 kWh - $102Apr - Jun 20, 2021 - 759 kWh - $88Jun - Aug 21, 2021 - 702 kWh - $82Aug - Oct 21, 2021 - 719 kWh - $84Oct - Dec 20, 2021 - 886 kWh - $100Dec - Feb 18, 2022 - 1,070 kWh - $119Feb - Apr 21, 2022 - 931 kWh - $105Apr - Jun 20, 2022 - 853 kWh - $96Heat Pump InstalledJun - Aug 21, 2022 - 817 kWh - $93Aug - Oct 20, 2022 - 875 kWh - $99Oct - Dec 19, 2022 - 2,256 kWh - $277Dec - Feb 18, 2023 - 2,376 kWh - $295Natural GasJan 2019 - $162Feb 2019 - $151Mar 2019 - $123Apr 2019 - $86May 2019 - $67Jun 2019 - $30Jul 2019 - $35Aug 2019 - $25Sep 2019 - $38Oct 2019 - $90Nov 2019 - $113 - 9.9 GJDec 2019 - $104 - 12.5 GJJan 2020 - $176 - 16.1GJFeb 2020 - $139 -12.8GJMar 2020 - $130 -11.9GJApr 2020 - $109 - 9.5 GJMay 2020 - $68 - 5.5 GJJun 2020 - $47 - 3.5 GJJul 2020 - $32 - 1.8 GJAug 2020 - $28 - 1.4 GJSep 2020 - $33 - 1.8 GJOct 2020 - $81 - 5.9 GJNov 2020 -$157 -12.7 GJDec 2020 -$145 -11.6 GJJan 2021 - $180 - 14 GJFeb 2021 - $209 - 16 GJMar 2021 - $150 -11.3 GJApr 2021 - $124 - 8.9 GJMay 2021 - $76 - 5.1 GJJun 2021 - $61 - 3.7 GJJul 2021 - $36 - 1.8 GJAug 2021 - $24 - 0.7 GJSep 2021 - $52 - 3.0 GJOct 2021 - $109 - 7.1 GJNov 2021 -$183 -12.4 GJDec 2021 -$201 - 13.8GJJan 2022 - $281 -18.5GJFeb 2022 - $198 -12.5GJMar 2022 - $175 - 11 GJApr 2022 - $171 - 10.5GJMay 2022 - $129 - 7.7 GJJun 2022 - $72 - 3.8 GJHeat Pumps InstalledJul 2022 - $48 - 2.1 GJAug 2022 - $37 - 1.4 GJSep 2022 - $52 - 2.2 GJOct 2022 - $28 - 0.9 GJNov 2022 -$59 - 2.7 GJDec 2022 -$59 - 2.5 GJJan 2023 - $59 - 2.7 GJFeb 2023 - $70 - 3.4 GJMar 2023 - $53 - 2.5 GJ
